Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenWhen he was 27, he enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark at which point he graduated in 1995. He was also featured in The Killing, a drama series that aired around the globe. He later appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other highly acclaimed Danish dramas. He also played a major role in Sherlock, the BBC drama where he played the role of Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. In the American TV series House of Cards, he played the role of President Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in the Danish TV drama Herrens Veje, which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 as Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is proficient in English, Swedish and German. He can also speak several accents. According to Mikkelsen's testimony that he and his brother learned English through Monty Python records.
